QUICK ANSWER
Remember These Three Things First
Phase 1 rotates fire (red) -> ice (blue) -> lightning (purple); swap the matching element flask between sub-phases.
At 50% he transforms into the mechanical crab Doryani's Triumph with a full-health reset and deals physical damage—you need physical mitigation as well as elemental resists.
Phase 2 mechanical crab—full reset plus physical slams
Element flasks + physical mitigation (phase 2 is physical)
Doryani's Catalyst unique jewel (endgame/citadel exclusive)
ACCESS & CONTEXT
How to Reach Doryani
Same mechanics, different difficulty and scaling
Conduits glow with the active element
Health scales; golem count does not
Act 3 campaign (The Black Chambers)
Progressing Act 3 to The Black Chambers / Testing Pit naturally confronts Doryani as a story boss—no extra entry material needed.
Endgame Stone Citadel (citadel boss)
In the endgame Doryani appears as a boss of The Stone Citadel; reach him after advancing citadel progress.
Enter the arena
A circular arena with three wall conduits. The fight starts on approach.
BEFORE THE FIGHT
Pre-Fight Preparation Checklist
| Done | Check | Why it matters | Quick fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| Three elemental flasks Bring Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz flasks. | Each phase deals a different element; swapping flasks at phase transitions provides 50% reduced elemental damage taken. | Use utility flask slots; sacrifice a life flask if needed — Doryani's damage is elemental, not physical. | |
| All elemental resistances 75% Verify fire, cold and lightning resistance are all capped. | You will face all three elements across the fight; any uncapped resistance is exploited in its phase. | Use Prismatic Ring, crafted suffixes, or Purity of Elements aura. | |
| High single-target DPS (500k+) Verify single-target DPS exceeds 500k. | Phase 3 has a soft enrage at 60 seconds where golem spawn rate doubles. | Bring a focused single-target skill; save AoE for golems only. | |
| Golem clear speed Ensure you can kill a golem in under 3 seconds. | Golems apply an elemental weakness aura that stacks; three or more alive simultaneously is lethal. | Use a secondary AoE skill or minion army for golem management. |
PHASE BREAKDOWN
Combat Phases
Phase 1 · Phase 1: Royal Thaumaturge
Trigger: Fight starts; Doryani appears in humanoid form, staff lighting red, blue, then purple conduits in turn.
Objectives- Bring Doryani from 100% to 50% health.
- Handle the three elemental conduits in fire -> ice -> lightning order.
- Swap the matching element flask between sub-phases.
Phase 1 rotates within one form: flame conduit (~100%–66%) -> frost conduit (~66%–50%) -> lightning conduit (transforms at ~50%).
Flame beam rotates slowly—keep circling; frost field expands to cover half the arena—stay at range; once the lightning conduit activates the thaumaturgical beam sweeps the whole arena—hide behind a pillar.
Each element sub-phase spawns a corresponding elemental golem; clear them fast to avoid stacked auras.
At 50% he transforms into phase 2.

ATTACK REFERENCE
Attack Recognition and Response
| Attack | Telegraph | Response | Common mistakes | Danger |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Channeled Flame BeamPhase 1: Royal Thaumaturge | Doryani's sceptre ignites; a red beam locks onto your position for 0.5s before channeling. | Keep circling. The beam rotates at roughly 60° per second — outrun it by moving perpendicular. | Running in a straight line instead of circling. | High |
| Frost Bolt BarragePhase 1: Royal Thaumaturge | Five blue orbs form around Doryani over 0.8 seconds. | Strafe laterally. The bolts spread in a fan pattern — moving perpendicular to the spread avoids all five. | Moving toward Doryani instead of laterally. | Med |
| Thaumaturgical Beam SweepPhase 1: Royal Thaumaturge | Doryani floats to arena centre and channels for 1 second; a purple line appears from his position. | Hide behind a conduit pillar. The beam sweeps 360° over 4 seconds but cannot penetrate pillars. | Trying to outrun the beam instead of using pillar cover. | High |
| Triumph AssaultPhase 2: Doryani's Triumph (mechanical crab) | The mechanical crab raises its front claw and charges a sweeping laser. | Keep moving; use pillars for the laser and sidestep the slams. | Using only elemental resists against physical slams, ignoring physical mitigation. | High |
BUILD-SPECIFIC STRATEGY
Build Considerations
Doryani is a combined elemental-and-physical test. Phase 1 wants balanced elemental defense; phase 2 also needs physical mitigation—builds that cover both beat single-resist builds.
The golem adds require quick AoE clear. Builds that can switch between single-target and AoE seamlessly have a major advantage.
Phase 3's beam sweep forces periodic disengagement. Builds with high burst windows (rather than sustained DPS) can capitalise on the safe periods between sweeps.
- Ranged builds: maintain maximum range; use pillar cover during beam sweep.
- Melee builds: attack during frost bolt recovery windows; disengage for beam sweep.
- Caster builds: use Purity of Elements for all-phase coverage; swap to specific flasks for extra safety.
- Avoid single-element builds; Doryani has 20% reduced damage taken from his current phase element.

COMMUNITY EVIDENCE
Community Questions and Evidence
Is flask swapping between phases really necessary?
Players who attempted the fight without flask swapping report dying consistently at phase transitions. Those who swap report smooth transitions with minimal damage taken.
We tested with and without flask swapping. Without swapping, Phase 2 cold damage with only base 75% cold res deals approximately 8,000 per frost bolt. With Sapphire Flask active, this drops to 4,000 — the difference between life and death for most builds.
PROBLEMS & DIRECT ANSWERS
Common Problems and Fixes
Golems overwhelm me in Phase 3
Direct answer: Set a rule: always kill golems first. Doryani's DPS is manageable with pillar cover; golems stacking auras is what kills. Use a secondary AoE skill bound to a separate key.
- Verify your AoE can kill a golem in under 3 seconds.
- Check if you are focusing Doryani too hard and ignoring golems.
I keep dying to the beam sweep in Phase 3
Direct answer: Pre-position near a pillar at all times during Phase 3. When Doryani floats to centre, immediately step behind the nearest pillar. The 1-second channel windup gives you time to reach cover.
- Confirm you know which pillar is closest to your position.
- Check if you are too far from any pillar when the channel starts.
