What are they?
Weapon Set Passive Points are not extra points. A Book of Specialization lets you take points you already earned and dedicate them to Weapon Set I or Weapon Set II, so they only activate while that weapon set is equipped.
How do I get them?
From Books of Specialization dropped by optional bosses (Crowbell, Kabala, Mighty Silverfist) or granted by side quests (Tradition's Toll), plus the Sacrificial Heart ritual in Act 3. Each source gives 2 points.
Why bother?
They let one character run two real builds - for example a melee set and a ranged set, or a fire set and a lightning set - without overloading a single passive path.

The Lost Lute / Una's Lute in Act 1 grants +2 passive SKILL points, not Weapon Set Points - do not confuse the two when planning.
How to allocate
Allocating Weapon Set Points is done entirely in the Passive Skill Tree. Follow the tab for each step.
Open the Passive Skill Tree and look at the top-right corner.
- You will see two boxes: 'I Weapon Set' and 'II Weapon Set' with a spent / available count.
- If neither set is selected, a normal point applies to BOTH sets.
- Weapon Set Points only appear after you use a Book of Specialization.
Builds that benefit most
Weapon Set Points shine for hybrid play. A few examples:
Melee + Ranged
Weapon Set I spec into melee defenses; Weapon Set II spec into projectile damage. Swap based on the fight.
Fire + Lightning
A Sorceress can allocate fire nodes to one set and lightning nodes to the other, switching elements without respeccing.
Weapon Master node
Some Ascendancies (e.g. the Weapon Master node) convert 20 passive points into Weapon Set Points, greatly expanding customization.

Frequently asked questions
Are Weapon Set Points extra skill points?
No. A Book of Specialization takes points you already earned and dedicates them to a weapon set. They only activate for that set.
Can I get them from vendors with currency?
No. Books of Specialization come only from optional bosses, specific side quests, and the Sacrificial Heart ritual. They are not bought with currency.
Do they carry into Cruel?
Yes. Cruel repeats most campaign sources, granting a second set of Weapon Set Points for the same character.
