QUICK ANSWER
Remember These First
Since 0.5.2 there is only ONE petrification phase, not multiple — old multi-phase clips are legacy.
Mirrors reflect her face; looking at either her or a lit mirror stacks petrification.
If she dives and never returns, it is likely a softlock — respawn at checkpoint to reset.
Turn away from gaze + mirrors
0.5.2 = single petrify phase
Geysers + Drowning Orbs
Respawn to reset the dive
FAQ
Top search questions: petrification, route, mirrors
Is Diamora required or optional?
She is an Act 4 island boss tied to the current league route; treat her as a high-value optional with a Shoreline Hideout unlock.
Why do I get petrified?
You stacked petrification by looking at her face or a lit mirror. Turn your camera away during the gaze phase.
Why did the petrify phase change?
0.5.2 reduced it to a single petrification phase. Multi-phase petrify clips are legacy footage.
She dived and never came back?
That is a known softlock case. Respawn at checkpoint to reset the encounter.

OVERVIEW
Current Route Role
Diamora sits on Whakapanu Island as part of the Act 4 island route. Whether she is mandatory depends on the current league objective, but she is the gate to the Shoreline Hideout and a strong optional target.
Her loot and the hideout unlock make her worth the petrification risk even when the main quest does not force the fight.
- Act 4 island boss, not a main-quest gate.
- Unlocks the Shoreline Hideout on defeat.
- Value: hideout + island loot.
PHASE BREAKDOWN
Combat Phases
Phase 1 · Phase 1 — Water & Gaze (100%–~50%)
Trigger: Fight start.
Objectives- Avoid geysers
- Turn from gaze/mirrors
Water Geysers and Drowning Orbs; the single petrification gaze appears.

OVERVIEW
Gaze and Mirror Guide
During the petrification phase Diamora's face and several mirrors emit a gaze beam. Looking at her face OR a lit mirror stacks petrification on you. Turning your camera away (or breaking line of sight) reduces the stack.
The safe play is to keep her out of your view during the gaze: reposition so a pillar or wall blocks the beam, or simply look away while dodging.
- Boss face + mirrors both petrify.
- Turn camera away or break LoS to drop stacks.
- One petrify phase since 0.5.2 — do not expect repeats.
ARENA READING
Arena and Hazards
The Singing Caverns arena has Water Geysers that erupt in patterns and Drowning Orbs that restrict movement. During the petrification phase, mirrors around the edge reflect her gaze.
Use the pillars for line-of-sight breaks during the gaze, and keep mobile to avoid geyser and orb coverage.
- Water Geysers: erupt in readable patterns, dodge the columns.
- Drowning Orbs: limit space, keep moving.
- Mirrors: reflect gaze, use pillars to break LoS.
ATTACK REFERENCE
Attack Recognition and Response
| Attack | Telegraph | Response | Common mistakes | Danger |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Petrifying GazePhase 1 — Water & Gaze (100%–~50%) | Her face and mirrors glow; a beam forms. | Turn camera away or break LoS with a pillar. | Staring at her face or a mirror | High |
| Water GeyserPhase 1 — Water & Gaze (100%–~50%) · Phase 2 — Dive (~50%–0%) | Columns of water erupt. | Dodge between geyser columns. | Standing in a column | Med |
| Drowning OrbPhase 1 — Water & Gaze (100%–~50%) · Phase 2 — Dive (~50%–0%) | Orbs appear and restrict movement. | Keep moving; do not get cornered by orbs. | Getting cornered | Med |
| Dive / ResurfacePhase 2 — Dive (~50%–0%) | She submerges, then resurfaces. | Burst on resurface; watch for the surfacing tell. | Over-committing while submerged | Low |
OVERVIEW
Visibility Guide
Petrification is a visibility mechanic: you can still act, but the screen effect and stack warn you. The fix is camera discipline, not a stat.
If the effect spikes, immediately break line of sight. Pillars in the Singing Caverns are your friend during the gaze.
- Gaze is camera-based, not resistance-based.
- Break LoS with pillars during the gaze.
- Stacks drop when you look away.
BEFORE THE FIGHT
Pre-Fight Preparation Checklist
| Done | Check | Why it matters | Quick fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| Capped Chaos Resistance Verify chaos res at 75% cap. | Gaze and Drowning Orbs deal Chaos. | Chaos rolls, charm, corrupted gear. | |
| Camera discipline Plan to look away during gaze. | Petrification is camera-based, not a stat. | Use pillars for LoS breaks. | |
| Movement Movement speed for geysers/orbs. | Space control is constant. | Movement-speed suffix. | |
| Burst on resurface Save cooldowns for dive. | Phase 2 windows are short. | Hold burst for resurface. |
BUILD-SPECIFIC STRATEGY
Build Considerations
Diamora is less about stats and more about mechanics. Any build can clear her if it respects the gaze and keeps mobile for geysers and orbs.
Melee has short windows because she dives; ranged can pressure during surfacings but must still break LoS for the gaze.
- Melee: burst on resurface, respect dive.
- Ranged: pressure surfacings, break LoS for gaze.
- Camera discipline beats gear here.
- Avoid getting cornered by Drowning Orbs.
