QUICK ANSWER

Direct answers

How many Atlas points are there in 0.5.4?

There are 311 Atlas passive points. The Fortress is now the only source of them - completing Fortress maps and the Arbiter loop replaces the old per-map point grind.

How do I start the Fortress?

Run your first Precursor (Lost) Tower near the Atlas start. Completing it raises the Precursor Fortress on the Atlas.

What is the fastest way to finish the Atlas?

Beat the Arbiter of Ash, then repeat-kill the Arbiter of Divinity. Each Divinity kill auto-completes a whole Fortress region worth 40+ points, so roughly five kills finishes the entire tree.

Do I need to respec the Atlas tree?

No. There is no respec because the tree has no permanent cost - only multi-choice nodes swap, and they swap freely in your hideout.

OVERVIEW

What the Fortress is

Patch 0.5 reset the Atlas and replaced the old point system with the Origins of Divinity storyline. The Precursor Fortress is now the central hub: a large walled zone packed with maps, and the only place that grants Atlas passive points.

Inside the Fortress you open Gateways to reach new sections, push toward the Burning Monolith, and clear Enigma Chambers for the quest version of the Crisis Fragments. Those fragments are spent at the Burning Monolith to fight the Arbiter of Ash.

  • The Fortress replaces every old way of earning Atlas points.
  • Maps inside the Fortress walls grant the points directly.
  • Directional questlines branch out from the centre toward each league mechanic's hub.
  • Old pre-0.5 Atlas point guides are obsolete - do not follow them.

PROGRESSION STEPS

Unlock route, step by step

  1. Raise the Fortress

From the Ziggurat Refuge, run the nearby Precursor (Lost) Tower.

Completing it spawns the Precursor Fortress on your Atlas.

  2. Collect Crisis Fragments

Open Gateways, push toward the Burning Monolith, and clear two Enigma Chambers for the quest version of the three Crisis Fragments.

  3. Beat the Arbiter of Ash

Spend the fragments at the Burning Monolith to open the fight.

This gates the next Fortress section and reveals two new wings around the Origin Tower.

  4. Clear Patriarch and Matriarch Halls

Both wings need Tier 15 Waystones and have limited attempts.

Patriarch Hall (boss Phya) drops the Origin Spark; Matriarch Hall (boss Phyx) drops the Origin Cradle.

  5. Forge the Origin Core and fight Divinity

Slot the Origin Spark + Origin Cradle into the Precursor Reactor at the Origin Tower.

Place the forged Origin Core at the top of the tower to start the Arbiter of Divinity fight.

OVERVIEW

Fortress layered map

The Fortress is a layered zone rather than a flat map. You move inward through Gateways (Ancient Gateway, then East and West Gateways) toward the Burning Monolith at the centre, with Enigma Chambers off the main path providing the Crisis Fragments.

Past the Burning Monolith, two wings wrap around the Origin Tower: Patriarch Hall and Matriarch Hall. The Origin Tower itself holds the Precursor Reactor and the summit fight against the Arbiter of Divinity.

  • Gateways unlock new Fortress sections - clear them as you push inward.
  • Burning Monolith: spend Crisis Fragments for the Arbiter of Ash.
  • Enigma Chambers: quest-source of the Crisis Fragments.
  • Origin Tower: Precursor Reactor (forge the Core) and the Divinity fight.

OVERVIEW

Boss gates and what they give

The Arbiter of Ash is the gatekeeper. Beating him opens the path to the Origin Tower wings and is required before you can assemble the Origin Core.

The Arbiter of Divinity is the summit. The first kill completes the questline and grants a large region of Atlas progression; every subsequent kill is a chase-unique farm that also unlocks more regions. The fight has unlimited attempts on repeats, so dying does not waste your summon items.

  • Arbiter of Ash: gated behind the three Crisis Fragments at the Burning Monolith.
  • Arbiter of Divinity: gated behind the Origin Core (Spark + Cradle in the Reactor).
  • Divinity repeats: orange beams outside the Fortress mark new Patriarch / Matriarch Hall encounters.
  • Cap resistances at 75% and bring Runic Ward before either pinnacle.

REFERENCE TABS

Trade vs SSF route

Your league mode changes how you reach the Fortress, not the Fortress itself.

Buy lower-tier Waystones from Doryani's shop for gold to sustain your early Atlas and reach the first Tower quickly.

You can skip some self-sustaining Atlas nodes early because you can top up Waystones from other players.

  • Doryani's shop sells Tier 1-5 Waystones for gold.
  • Use the saved Atlas points for broad map value and Waystone drop nodes instead.
  • Still grab Waystone sustain nodes before committing to one mechanic.
  1. Buy Waystones from Doryani

Use gold to buy lower-tier Waystones and push to the first Tower quickly.

  2. Raise the Fortress, then spec sustain

Raise the Fortress, then spend points on Waystone drop nodes.

  3. Progress the Arbiter loop

Continue the Ash -> Divinity route as normal.

DIAGNOSTIC

Why you are missing points

If your Atlas looks finished but the point total is short, pick the situation.

CARD GRID

Community questions, answered

Common Fortress questions from Reddit and video comments, each with our analysis and a direct suggestion.

Efficiency

Do I need to clear every map manually?

Question: players assume they must complete all 30 Fortress maps.

Evidence: Divinity repeat-kills auto-complete whole regions.

Suggestion: kill Divinity ~5 times instead of hand-clearing everything.

Navigation

Where are the halls after my first kill?

Question: the original fragment maps are already green.

Evidence: repeat halls spawn outside the Fortress as orange beams.

Suggestion: explore the outer Atlas; do not reuse completed halls.

Pinnacle

Is the Divinity fight limited attempts?

Question: dying wastes the summon.

Evidence: repeats have unlimited attempts - dying does not waste items.

Suggestion: keep trying once geared; cap resistances first.

Cost

Grand Project Tablets worth it?

Question: tablets to reach halls faster.

Evidence: prices swing from ~20 Exalted to 4-5 Divines.

Suggestion: only buy if the price fits your budget; manual search works.
