OVERVIEW
Quick summary
In 0.1.0, reaching an ascendancy meant surviving one of two trial types. The Trial of Sekhemas was a multi-room gauntlet tracked by a Honour resource that drained as you took damage; the Trial of Chaos was a wave-based challenge with random房间 modifiers.
Both trials dropped from specific content and granted ascendancy points on completion. This page is the total-entry history of that original trial system: what 0.1.0 shipped, how the first weeks adjusted it, and which trial rules still resemble the current client versus what later patches rebuilt.
- Two trial paths: Trial of Sekhemas (Honour) and Trial of Chaos (waves)
- Trials granted ascendancy points on completion
- First adjustments arrived in 0.1.0d (trial key clarity) and 0.1.0e (respec cost)
HISTORICAL CONTEXT
Historical warning
Path of Exile 2 Early Access — the 0.1.0 trial era
Current-status claims on this page are measured against client 0.5.4e.
0.1.0 is a historical baseline, not a current trial guide. The Honour mechanic and Chaos room rules were adjusted within the first weeks and then again by 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5.
Watching a Day-1 trial run today is misleading: the Honour drain, room modifiers and reward steps it shows were changed by launch-week hotfixes and later patches. Treat 0.1.0 footage as a record of the launch state.
- 0.1.0 = trial system starting point, not final design
- Day-1 trial runs are historical records, not current guides
- All current-rule claims below are checked against 0.5.4e
OVERVIEW
What the 0.1.0 trial system contained
The Trial of Sekhemas opened as a sequence of rooms where a Honour bar represented your remaining life for the whole run; losing all Honour failed the trial regardless of character health. The Trial of Chaos presented waves with random room modifiers that escalated difficulty.
Each trial type granted a different flavour of ascendancy progression, and both were required across a character's career to reach full ascendancy. The exact key drops and room sets were in their first form and changed soon after.
- Sekhemas: Honour bar tracks the whole run
- Chaos: wave-based with random room modifiers
- Both trials fed ascendancy progression

Sekhemas Honour just vanishes in melee, this feels wrong.
Are these trial guides still good or did they rework the rooms?
Why do the trials look nothing like the 0.1.0 video?
